Edge of the Earth 4 Day TASafari (departing from Hobart)
WOW — look south into an ocean wilderness — next stop Antarctica — this is the edge of the earth, the edge of Tasmania, the edge of the great south land. Stunning walks to highpoints with World Heritage views and out to the edges for wild sea spray. Wildlife in the wild — sea life, native mammals, rare birds. Evening laughs around a campfire, dinner and snuggle into a swag.
Day 1 (L,D)
- Pick up from accom in Hobart at 7:am and go south!!
- Bushwalk in Hartz Mountains National Park for spectacular views into South West World Heritage wilderness.
- Alpine picnic and then further south. Enjoy a dip in Hastings thermal springs and option of a cave tour.
- Set up camp way down south at idyllic Recherche Bay
Day 2 (B,L,D)
- Go as far south as the land will take us with a day walk to South Cape Bay.
- Return to our camp and an afternoon swim and try some fishing for dinner!
Day 3 (B,L,D)
- Drive through scenic Huon Valley to meet the ferry to Bruny Island.
- Bush walk to the highest point of the island, picnic lunch with a view!
- Afternoon coastal walk around from our camp site on the southern side of the island.
Day 4 (B,L)
- Bushwalk on the remote Labillardiere Peninsular. Awesome coastal views. Wildlife — sea mammals and birds. Lunch and a swim. What a great day!
- Return to Hobart late in the afternoon. We'll drop you off at your accommodation.
